Soothe your mind as well as your body with a walk with LifestyleDoc!

Where and when?

Dates and locations for the walks will appear here as they are announced. The walk will generally be on good ground, and we will arrange various wheelchair/buggy friendly routes throughout the year.

Who is it for?

Everyone is welcome to join a session, and we specifically aim to help those with help concerns get out and enjoy the routes we choose, but please keep in mind you must be capable of completing at least a gentle walk.

We recommend that anyone interesting in joining a walk registers with us beforehand, so we can get in touch with some pre-hike advice and to let us know if you have any symptoms that may effect your ability to be part of the group - we will conduct a safety brief at the start of the walk, just to be extra sure!

Children under 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult, and friendly dogs are welcome (please!) - but we’re afraid they’ll have to be kept on a lead at all times.

What equipment do I need?

Aside from a few layers and a bottle of water to keep you going, we’d recommend some sensible shoes to keep safe and comfortable. Pull on your wellies or lace up your walking boots, and be ready to take in the views and our advice - we’ll provide the map too!

What about the weather?

Our walks aren’t just limited to the dreamy Cornish sunshine, we’re not afraid to hit the paths come rain or shine! However, in the rare occasions where mother nature has made conditions too dangerous, we may have to call the walk off. In this case, we’ll make the decision in enough time to inform you; so please check this page and your email inbox before you set off.

Do I need any experience to come along?

No! We understand that you many be nervous about trying something new, but we’re here to guide you towards a better lifestyle, which includes this literal first step! We will be delighted to see you, regardless of your ability or confidence, so there’s no need to be nervous about joining a group!

What will you talk about?

Don’t worry - we wont be giving you a lecture or telling off! Instead, we can share in a brief, lighthearted chat about an aspect of lifestyle medicine. Concise, precise and informative! We can also attempt to address any general health inquiries you may have, but if you have any specific health issues to resolve, these should still be discussed with your own GP as normal.

Why walking?

Fundamentally, we’re proud of the amazing Cornish scenery and heritage that’s right on our doorstep, and want to help others make the most out of it. Mixing our services with the coastal paths is a great way to encourage newcomers to join us, whilst also showing you the benefits our our sessions firsthand! From here, you are welcome to take home a leaflet or ask about our other services, or just come for another stroll whenever you’re ready!

Remember to get in touch and register for the walk with us beforehand, we look forward to seeing you!

The lifestyle medicine approach  we use should not  clash with treatment and management you have received  from the NHS. Instead it focuses on lifestyle change accepted to be beneficial and assists in it's implementation with a personalised plan and support. Although we will not prescribe medicine for you, if we feel that you would benefit from discussing medication with your GP or another specialist we will of course discuss this with you.

Not just for summer!

The Cornish coast is dramatic all year round!
